After a few years anticipating the Chick-Fil-A Kickoff between Alabama and Florida State, it finally happened. This Peach Bowl is named the GOAT, " Greatest Opener of All Time." No1 Alabama versus No3 Florida State left it all on the field.
Being that Alabama had first possession the Crimson Tide started the first half slower than expected. They were not able to score a touchdown so they settle for a field goal attempt, in which unable to get. Fast-forward, Alabama second possession they still could not get a touchdown but indeed obtained the field goal being the first on the board. Florida State offense came on the field, began to get momentum and moves down the field with ease to the end zone but not able to score. Even through the first half was in favor of Florida State and the Crimson Tide having a rough beginning, Alabama defensive back, Fitzpatrick came up with a big play to end the half by blocking a Florida State field goal. At the half Alabama 10, Florida State 7.
Second half, Alabama settled down and began to play Alabama football. The defense had an outstanding performance. These players dominated; blocking punts, stripping the ball for a fumble, interceptions, making it difficult for the Seminoles to get in rhythm. Many wanted to see the Crimson Tide go down but they fought and stayed on top with the final being 24-7.
